about
Residing somewhere between the instrumental work of Pell Mell, Brian Eno and Giant Sand, 'Music for Driving and Film, vol 2' is a cycle of soundtracks that transports the listener to a very familiar place. You’ve been here before, roaring down a stretch of highway, shifting gears, going from full throttle to a downhill coast, taking in saturated colors, blurring lines, slowing but never stopping. You awake from the dream in front of a giant silver screen that takes you back again.

It features the compositions and guitar playing of the Reverend Screaming Fingers, supported by a stellar cast including Pat Spurgeon (Rogue Wave), Wil Hendricks (Edith Frost), Laurie Amat (The Residents), Jonathan Segel (Camper Van Beethoven), Jenya Chernoff (Mummble & Peg), Suki O’Kane (She Mob), John Hanes, (Chrome), Valerie Kuehne, Steve Lucky and others.

All the basic tracks (save one) were performed live, with the players in one room, not wearing headphones, in as few takes as possible, with minimal instrumentation added later. It showcases longer and more organically developed tunes than the crafted bits, interludes and soundscapes and more 'ground up/overdub' approach taken on 'Vol 1'.
